To go even further, Kurosawa's films were heavily inspired by the earlier American westerns of the 30s and 40s. Remake-caption indeed.

Yes but The Magnificent Seven is also a remake/reboot of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samuri, so you can only play that card so far...who knows, the 3:10 to Yuma remake was worthwhile.

I'm more upset that Antoine Fuqua is still allowed to direct movies.

Underrated movie. Should have been nominated for cinematography.

I always thought that criticism towards MoS was a little odd - from the beginning scenes it is established that this is going to be a dark movie. For pete's sake, they wipe out a whole civilization in the opening minutes!

I think peoples hatred of this movie mostly comes from the total lack of levity in the movie in general. It does feel like something is missing but we must remember that this is only one specific take on the character. There are plenty of superman storie...

I dig it for the most part. Of course it will look much different on film; it's a production photo after all.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time a bat suit will be featured in a bat film that isn't completely grey - none of the other live action films ever incorporated grey into the color scheme. I like it.

Pretty good flick but I have a feeling most people with find some of the subject matter difficult.

Kind of agree. He's a cool character I'm not sure if this warrants an entire 13 episode season. Not to mention the Jessica Jones and Luke Cage shows, which will all ultimately culminate into an Avengers style 'Defenders' tv show, where all of these characters join forces. A little overkill me thinks.

...but it's so much more fun to pretend it was a dream. Kind of like the last act of Minority Report. What if Cruise never escaped the cry-chamber, and it was all a dream?

I agree, he is much too young. Looks like he should be attending Hogwarts.

I'll give Bryan Singer props, he's been there since this new age of comic book adaptations were ushered in. I've mostly enjoyed all of his movies, especially when you consider how much Fox has undervalued their franchises.

Honestly, I could care less about BO receipts. We live in a world where the latest fast and furious or transformers movie re writes the record books yearly. As long as there are hormonal teenagers with plenty of dispensable income, these movies will make money. I just hope the movie is actually worthy of the title, and from the reviews it sounds like a step back.

I do sometimes wonder...Spoilers*

Will people be as excited for an Avengers team that consists of second tier characters like Falcon and War Machine? What will Marvel do after they have tackled the two biggest storylines in their universe, the Infinity War and the Civil War?

There will come a point where they will have to reboot the entire thing; they aren't going to be able to keep all of their actors under contract indefinitely. As we've seen with othe...

They are both good, but two completely different approaches to the character. Personally I'd go with MoS because I can't stand the storyline with Superman's kid in Returns. They both feature sub standard Lois Lane's.

Let's phase it, the first phase of Marvel's universe was pretty weak; it's a good thing the Avengers came in to seal the deal and help us forget that.

And I still maintain that Ang Lee's The Hulk is one of the best comic book adaptations to date, despite it's flaws. You really got a sense that the director was allowed to make his own movie without a bunch of studio interference. It was a time long ago when comic book adaptations were still unpredictable. ...

Is it just me, or is their something about the makeup and costume design in these X men movies that always comes off as cheap feeling? TBH, I thought the original Nightcrawler design in X2 was much better, one of the few examples where they nailed the character look.

This is ridiculous. DC is doing just fine. They've just started to kick off their universe; I remember the MCU's first few films - they were very hit and miss. If we didn't have patience to sit through all of the Thor's and Captain America First Avengers we never would have gotten to the good stuff.

BvS, Suicide Squad and a Justice League Dark movie directed by GDT sounds like a pretty awesome slate of movies. We'll see were they go with Aquaman, Wonder W...

I'm starting to get bad vibes from this Warcraft movie - its been done filming for almost a year now, they even showed footage at this years Blizzcon; now it's going to sit on the shelf for another year?

The movie looks cool, but I'll be damned if I know what it is actually about from the trailer.
