I would agree, when doing generic popcorn fare Branagh is pretty lame, but he has directed what is arguably one of the best Shakespeare adaptations. This could be a brilliant movie.
Looks really sappy. I'm surprised Antione Fuqua is still allowed to direct.
Less wolverine please, there are other characters in the X-Men. I think a better question should be, which 4 mutants will make up the Horsemen?
So he is arrogant and he hates superheros in real life? Sounds like he fits the mold for Lex Luthor more than you might realize.
Fun fact: spideman outsells the next two popular characters combined.
And how could this article not reak of bias when we know so little about either film? Plenty of people doubted gaurdians would be a success.
Thank you, sometimes I feel as if we live in a world where Marvel can do no wrong - they've done plenty wrong. I would say a majority of their movies have been underwhelming. What's going to happen when they release another Thor: The Dark World, but they don't have a big name character to anchor the movie like Thor?
I also don't care for their approach at setting up an expanded universe. It doesnt feel cohesive at all, and it seems that the sole purpose of ev...
If its anything like the last few movies, ill probably have a good time watching it but completely forget everything about it when i leave the theatre. Cruise really needs to stop making these the same year that the Bond films come out.
Id just like to point out that considering Wonderwoman's origins it makes sense to cast an actress from that part of the world; and no im not delusional enough to think that if she gains a few pounds of muscle its going to make her hoisting a dumptruck over her head any more or less believable. Once again we fund ourselves focusing on the less important aspects of a film because we want so badly to wave our index finger at the studios and say I told you so. At this point I don't think...
It was one of the few MCU movies that actually featured an interesting antagonist, other than that I thought it was really mediocre.
Kenneth Branagh has really become a joke of a director after this and the atrocity that was Shadow Recruit. This coming from a guy who filmed one of the best Shakespeare adaptations and a damn fine take on the Noir genre with Dead Again.
Looking better than the first trailers, but did they really have to give Quicksilver the lame Russian accent?
Love pretty much everything Alex Garland has done
Maybe that's the case, but DoFP did come out a full year before The Avengers, not to mention Quicksilver originates in the X-Men universe. They are throwing him and Scarlett Witch in the next avengers because they want to push their upcoming inhumans film, and they've changed the involvement of both of those characters concerning the Ultron storyline.
Fox jealous of Marvel? It's actually the complete opposite. Marvel is trying to position The Inhumans as their own...
Wrong. Quicksilver was announced for DoFP first.
Great movie. Sam Raimi's fingerprints are all over it.
yeah, it would be nice to get a movie that justifies his existence.
Sorry, long weekend, but that post deserves a response. I do have my storylines mixed, but the point still stands that arguing continuity in comic books is overrated.
And there are plenty of instances where Parker is at odds with the cops, just as many as he is friendly to them. Most recently in the cinematic universe it was Capt. Stacy. The Punisher was introduced originally as a character trying to assassinate Spiderman because he was viewed as a menace by the authorities....
Not that I think Disney has the balls to do this, but in this current racial climate it would be an excellent opportunity for commentary. He is a character who is always at odds with the NYPD, not unlike the African American demographic of that city who were routinely targeted by the stop and frisk policy (recently declared unconstitutional).
This is supposed to be Marvel's bread and butter, and it is what saw their rise to prominence during the silver age of comics - fo...
No way, Godfather 2 totally ups the ante. Plus it doesn't have Sonny fighting like a little sissy.
So weird seeing the ultra liberal Sean Penn star in a dumbed down action movie like this. I'm sure there will be some political commentary strewn in, but this kind of film seems like it would be beneath him.
No, it's because the Equalizer was a terrible movie. I thought John Wick had a hell of a lot more going on for it. The action choreography was better, as were the stunts (especially the driving).
They both rely heavily on the Taken formula, but John Wick actually has fun with it instead of taking itself too seriously like the Equalizer.
