I can honestly say I haven't enjoyed an RDJ movie since Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Iron Man 3 is probably the closest thing he's done to a quality film.
Hugo Weaving, after taking roles in films like LoTR and The Matrix and Captain America started to bad mouth these movies. He's pretty much all but disappeared from the public conscience now.
Which is why I am looking forward to DC's upcoming films. Marvel films tend to be visually sterile. Outside of Guardians none of them really have much of a color pallet. Everything has the same ordinary look and feel, and a lot of the action scenes rely too much on cg characters.
It has nothing to do about being overly obsessive. We're talking about a guy who's upcoming film is John Wick 2. He's done voice work in movies like Kung Fu Panda. The guys gotten fat off of these exploitation movies. It's a little hypocritical for him to turn around and make these disparaging remarks, it is because of these roles that he has been afforded the opportunity to make films that he feels are more important to him. Yeah I don't think Jon Snow is going to play a major factor in this season, he will probably be put on the backburner until next year.
Kind of relieved by this news. There is no way that somebody with Levitt's limited directorial experience could do this movie justice. It is too bad however because I think he would have been a good choice to play Morpheus.

I agree that his time has come, I feel like he has done everything he can with the character and a new actor might be a refreshing change of pace for the franchise. I do think however that they should keep the cast of supporting players from this particular Bond-verse.
Dicaprio has had a bit of a weird career. I wouldn't say he has ever been snubbed, but the roles he took when he was younger are more impressive. I don't think he deserves the statue of Cranston.
It's sad we live in a world where the merchandising takes precedence over the actual film itself. These toy fairs are becoming the number one source of spoilers considering that all of our movies are based of children's franchises nowadays. I heard that Star Wars makes 3 times a much money off of toys than it does tickets.

This is spot on actually, and my main gripe with the show (heck, it's my main gripe with most Netflix shows). It goes on too long and there is way too much padding in the form of forced drama. I think one whole episode of the show is dedicated to Foggy and Matt locked in an apartment together crying. Seriously, those two just need to bang already.

I love the punisher theme in the soundtrack. Aren't Bullseye and Kingpin also supposed to be in this season? I feel like they still need a proper villain.
It's amazing how peoples perspective of a film can change when the lead character is wearing a costume. This film was on par with something like Shoot 'em Up or Crank (I would argue that those movies are actually more inventive than Deadpool). I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

Definitely different types of action directors. Snyder excels more in fight choreography, but Nolan has crafted some pretty intense action setpieces. The opening scenes to TDK and TDKR are both excellent.
If the recent Suicide Squad trailers have taught us anything, it's possible for a movie to be dark and gritty while still being fun and campy at the same time. Ultimately, this is still a comic book film after all. I don't think Superman smiles once in any of these films.
