As far as the latest film is concerned, great entertainment but not great. It didn't really leave much of a lasting impression on me. Not long after I had left the theater it was gone from my mind, and I haven't had the urge to revisit it since my initial viewing. I still don't regret waiting 3 hours in line on opening day to catch the first showing.
1 step forward 2 steps back. It doesn't make her any less of a strong female character because she's playing a villain. It's kind of annoying how they keep trying to make her into some kind of an anti-hero, she's an anti villain! I don't want to see her join the X-Men for the same reason I don't want to see Magneto do the same - it totally robs the character of everything that makes them interesting.
Cameron will never do another Terminator film, sorry to break it to you.
Genesis, much like the other non-Cameron films, did totally miss the boat. They try to throw everything but the kitchen sink into the movie, leaving no terminator reference unturned. It was a bloated and messy movie.
The one thing that is always overlooked in these films is the suspense factor. The Terminator is supposed to be horrifying!
Looks great, but eerily similar to another film from the 60s - Man In The Wilderness.
Yeah, I'm pumped for this as well. The cast is solid and the production quality looks top notch. This looks to be the next AAA show from HBO.
Temple of Doom might not be great, but it is a far cry from the awfulness of Crystal Skull. For once we agree on something my fellow filmwatch brethren (most of us anyways)
LMAO at people complaining about the ending. You found it upsetting? It conflicted with your emotions? GOOD! That was the intended effect. The movie is a scathing commentary on all of the post 9/11 hysteria and paranoia after all. The fact that it leads our main character to murder innocent people is the films ultimate statement, and it is meant to feel like a swift punch to the gut.
I would also recommend watching the movie in black and white if you have the copy of the dvd ...
Dear Lord, please spare us anymore of Cameron Diaz' so-painful-they-aren't-eve n-funny dance moves.
That is definitely an improvement from The Wishmaster.
This is one of the most important decades in cinema. There are so many great movies the top 100 are practically interchangeable.
Being There
Texas Chainsaw
Mash
The Sting
Five Easy Pieces
Carrie
Dog Day Afternoon
Dawn of the Dead
Blowout
Patton
Badlands
etc. etc.
Yeah, Sorcerer is pretty good (it's a remake of Wages of Fear, which is also worth checking out). As far as William Friedkin goes, this is in his top five right behind The French Connection and The Exorcist.
Yeah, I'm not afraid to see this movie for the failure that it is. It's really just a series of plug ins for upcoming films. Inhumans, Civil War, Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok, Infinity War, etc. etc. When these movies start to come out will anyone really care about Age of Ultron anymore?
It doesn't really develop any of the characters in any kind of interesting way (some of them actually regress). The villain is a total throwaway. There is all kinds of padding and...
Yeah, that's the one
Good. I expect nothing but excellence. His score, namely Dawn of Fates, was one of the few notable things about the prequels.
Then again I'm doing a complete media blackout for Star Wars until I actually see it, so there is no way I would listen to the score before watching the movie anyways.
It almost makes me wish the whole movie was actually filmed this way. I love that grainy quality.
On a related sidenote, Assassin's Creed will still not share continuity with actual history! I feel like this is something more worth getting upset about other than whether or not the movie will live up to a cheesy videogame.
He's already pulling double duty with the Justice Leauge. It's highly likely they are going to bring somebody else in.
That would be awesome to see his take on Superman. Never been much of a supes fan, but this would shoot to the top of my must see list.
You would have to be naïve to think that the blame doesn't fall just as much on Fox. This is yet another example of the studio handing the keys to the Ferrari over to a young filmmaker and having it backfire. Studios like to hire young directors because they are cheap and easy to manipulate. The second Fox took creative control out of Trank's hands they took away any hope of this movie being decent. Fox has a track record of mishandling their properties and this is just another i...
Disney to Star Wars: Come over here and bend over!
Are people so dull nowadays they really need everything spelled out for them?
