As a fan of the WWE and of pro wrestling in general, I would have to agree with you. I don't mind the occasional 3-hour episode if something significant is done during that time, but to have them just for the sake of having them in an attempt to bolster ratings is just the wrong way to do things.

Especially when you fill it with garbage like the Marella/Sheamus match. If something big and exciting isn't going to happen, then USA should let Raw just stay at 2-hours in...

I definitely can appreciate it more now than even just a few years ago. The subtly of the cinematography is one feature that I pay more attention to now than I did as just a fanboy years ago. Good piece. Now I want to watch it over again myself.

True. I had a feeling Kidman could sing, and boy she could, but McGregor... wow, I was like "Go Obi-wan!"

I am glad that my wife like musicals. It is something that we don't have to discuss watching.

Just real quick: Phantom was a great movie, I totally agree with you there.

When McGregor belts out that first note, it threw me for a loop. I did not expect that voice from him. Likewise, Kidman shocked me as well. And that Roxanne tango was just perfect. The mood and tone it set for the rest of the film. Loved it.

I was so glad that I decided to watch it. I honestly was going to pass on it, but I saw it by chance because they were having a free screening o...

Yeah, Beastly.

Good list. I have never seen The Man From Earth, so I will check it out. But like filmmattic said above, good effort. Winding the list down to just 12 is one hell of a task.

Going by the parameters of the list, I would say my top 4 would be

1. The Fifth Element
2. L.A. Confidential
3. Men in Black
4. Life is Beautiful

With 5 honorable mentions going to

- Boogie Nights
- Selena
- Good Will Hunting
- Cube
- Private Parts

Definitely agree with you on Karl Urban. I think he has a long promising career ahead of him... if he could stay away from more roles like Doom and Priest.

He has a pretty impressive resume, but I believe he was just never given the proper chance to really shine past what directors and producers thought he could carry. Such a shame...

Agree with the list, just not the numbering. But it is still a great list full of movies that went above and beyond what their predecessors did.

Okay, so Snow White is being remade in a dark and evil-ish tone (Starring Kristen Stewart no less *eww*), a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and now possibly The Little Mermaid. Hmm. They are really trying to kill the Disney versions of these huh? Just please oh please oh please Sleeping Beauty and Mulan alone. PLEASE!

The reviews states that I was comparing DC Animated FILMS to Marvel Animated FILMS. Not series.

4725d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Nope. Been watching cartoon since the early 80s and have been a fan of animation since.

That's a great way to put it. As I said it the review, it wasn't great but it was by no means bad. In the end, I was very entertained by the film. Personally, I do hope they make another one. I would like to see the Sparrow/Angelica story evolve. Plus the story with Syrena and Phillip was interesting, but ended way to soon. There are definitely some plot lines I want to see continue.

Well, I am kind of a big fan of the Charlton Heston version of The Ten Commandments, so any kind of Moses flick I usually compare back to that one.

I am a big fan of the Maleficent character and think that something as odd as this could be up Aronofsky's alley.

If true, I hope he choose the House of Mouse over the Looney Bin.

Agreed. I wasn't sold on the movie at first but I am glad my wife forced me to watch it. Her performance was funnier than I could have imagined and I totally love that movie now.

Does anyone here think that Bane will break Batman's back in this film?

4727d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

There is this saying about normal people that I always remember.

"No good can come from being around normal people."

Normal is what pacifies the average TV viewer. Shows like this that attempt to break the norm are the shows that challenge viewers to think and evaluate the level of entertainment they are watching.

But back to this show, I want to check it out as well. When I first saw the trailer I immediately thought of the Vertig...

So far, all the sequels they have made for The Crow really suck. They all lack that emotion that the first one had. Its a shame too because I love the first film.

But you really should watch Ghost World at least. American Splendor kind of has this 50/50 feel about who it appeals to. But Ghost World has this amazing true to life feel that everyone should watch.

That announcer was one of the funniest bits in that episode.
