You may not know who filmmaker Bong Joon-ho is, but clearly, the world of discerning A-list actors do. And perhaps that milieu have rather discerning taste as well. The South Korean auteur, known for thrilling international works like "The Host" and the police procedural "Memories of Murder" (which many of us feel is superior to "Zodiac"), is mounting his first English-language feature, and so far a little guy named Chris Evans is pegged to lead the picture.
"Surrounded" is a terrific and brutal showcase for Letitia Wright and Jamie Bell with gorgeous scenery in this Western.
Tilda Swinton stars in a double role in the upcoming A24 horror mystery drama film The Eternal Daughter.
Wes Anderson is nothing if not consistent. While his approach to his brand of filmmaking has been refined since his debut 25 years ago, the Andersonian flourishes remain.
I think if this cast comes together it will turn out to be a big success for him. Chris Evans is enough for me to go see a movie so I know he has that on his side from the beginning.
