I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that this wasn’t going to be more of an action and comedy movie than sci-fi. Attack the Block seemed to have just the right amount of humor without it taking away from the plot or character development. I walked away from this movie trying to think of another even somewhat recent movie that balanced out the genres the movie was trying to hit as well as this one. I really couldn’t.
This movie won’t be for everyone, it is R for a reason, but if you can get past the graphic violence, teen gang and pot smoking then you are in for a really good movie. This is one of the few movies this year that I left wanting to see it again right away. I highly recommend this movie.
