Will Rodman (James Franco – 127 Hours) is a scientist on the cusp of a major medical breakthrough. He has devised a form of brain cell regeneration that could potentially cure Alzheimer’s. A few Chimpanzees are tested with the serum and they demonstrate remarkable results until a freak accident in the lab prompts the board to shut down Will’s project and orders the animals to be destroyed. A small baby chimp named Caesar (Andy Serkis – King Kong) has inherited his mothers affected-DNA so Will decides to secretly take the animal home to study and care for it himself, without his employers knowledge. Before long Caesar exhibits startling capacity for intelligence and grows to be a very communicative animal. But what will Caesar do when he starts to outthink his human counterparts?
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
