TRR: Set thirteen years after the events of The Ring, Rings is analog horror reborn for the YouTube generation. But even though this sequel does exist in the same continuity as its predecessor, it largely forgoes the feeling of slow-building dread that permeated director Gore Verbinski's 2002 vision, in favor of set-piece thrills and jump scares.
