Visually this looks interesting in a punk/chaos/mess sort of way, I just hope the movie itself isn't a mess.

Agreed! David Ayer is a bit more competent than Snyder so I have hope. As much as I love these looks I do hope we get Margot Robbie's Harley in the classic Jester outfit at some point!

David Ayer is a more daring director in many respects (and more versatile), but we also haven't had him direct a comic book movie yet, so we don't know if it's his forte yet.

True it's hard to gauge based on that alone though. The man who directed Casino Royale (Martin Campbell) also directed the abysmal Green Lantern. The Russo Brother's were directing BS comedies like You me and Dupree before taking on Cap2 which is arguably the best Marvel solo movie to date in my opinion. Ayer can really go either way!
