The Daily Rotation - 99 Homes Review

Jeremy of The Daily Rotation wrote, "Ramin Bahrani‘s 99 Homes is an example of exceptional performance-driven filmmaking that hits hard topics with strong drama. Bahrani’s latest film isn’t just a hot subject that can be very relatable. It’s also an emotional experience that’s universally dense, picking at the idea of what a home really means and just how far someone will go to protect theirs and their family. Andrew Garfield swings out of his now-debunk Spider-Man franchise into the hot and heavy with his best performance yet, while Michael Shannon‘s greedy and heartless performance comes loaded with a dark energy that only he can harness."

What Culture | '99 Homes' Review

WC

The Spider-Man from the rubbish movies and General Zod from Man Of Steel star in a film whose plot has some interesting parallels with True Detective Season 2.

But wait! Don’t let that less-than-glowing summary fool you – 99 Homes is a pretty great film that sticks the knife into society’s total disregard for the poor and twists, showing the extreme extents it takes to escape the spiral of poverty. You’ll be sickened, not just by what the film throws up, but by how you begin to accept the character’s actions as a necessity.

Really want to see this but not in my cinema! Super disappointed, sounds great.

The trailer really caught my interest in this one. Great to see Andrew Garfield back in action and away from the terrible Amazing Spider Man series.

Andrew Garfield Thinks There Are ‘Dangers’ In The Rise Of Superhero Movies

MTV

For three years (five, if you include the period spent filming and promoting), Andrew Garfield was Spider-Man. But now, with Marvel teaming up with Sony to create their own Spidey (to be played by Tom Holland, and incorporated into the “Avengers” side of the Marvel Universe), Garfield is out and on to other projects — including his upcoming drama “99 Homes.”

he's becoming shia labeouf

He says he was never Spiderman and yet won't shit up about Spiderman or Superhero films in general

I think he's hurt he got given a Superhero role and they've kicked him off only two films in.

StarWarsFan3151d ago

Andrew Garfield got a little too philosophical about it.

I really dislike him, nor did I ever believe he had that Peter Parker quality...glad to see him go, and frankly, not so impressed by the new guy Tom either- but hopefully, he does better that AG.

It's a sad day when you can say Tobey Maguire was still the best Spider-man, even despite the tragedy that was Spider-man 3....aka proof that Raimi should be nowhere near a film again.

I saw the previews to 99 Homes and I wasn't impressed all. I won't be seeing that movie.
