Now a new actor is picking up the web-slinging superhero's mantle. On Tuesday (June 23), Marvel and Sony jointly announced that 19-year-old Tom Holland will be the MCU's Spider-Man, and Jon Watts will direct the standalone "Spider-Man" feature film, due in theaters on July 28, 2017. This Peter Parker will first appear in 2016's "Captain America: Civil War," and he isn't getting a third origin story.
