WOW247: "Ironically for a film that spends a great deal of time emphasising the theme of the personal vs the universal, Interstellar itself actually chooses the personal over the universal - and suffers for it."
uhm, Duh? I hope people really aren't getting Interstellar confused with an intelligent movie. There is nothing subtle about the way that Interstellar approaches its subject matter, unlike 2001 which is smart enough to realize that some questions are over our head no matter how much pseudo science films like Interstellar cram down our throats. Interstellar is only interested in asking questions that it already has the answers to. The same can not be said for 2001, hence the reason it is infinitely more intelligent. There is so much more to contemplate.
"Interstellar is only interested in asking questions that it already has the answers to." That's very well put.
