CB: With reports that Andrew Garfield is out as Spider-Man and Sony's apparent frustration and directionlessness with the franchise going public following a hack that left dozens of top-level e-mails available online, there's starting to be a lot of speculation as to what form the property will take when it makes its way back to the screen.

I would like Toby to come back but not having him related to the old films directly.
Take what they want from the old trilogy and ignore what didn't work. Basically all of Spiderman 3.
You could have a flashback or two showing the changes, like what Porcelain_Chicken said to me "re-write Spider-man 3 and have Harry's Goblin kill Gwen and wound Mary Jane which causes Peter to leave behind his Spider-man persona until now", thus why he didn't show up for the battle of New York and why people like Stand Lees cameo "Superheros in New York, give me a break" said that. Show Gwen dying in a Flashback and the audience will quickly catch on.
I honestly think if they do that and it works they should do a Spiderman film with Toby where he faces Venom...and JUST Venom. Make up for Spiderman 3.
Would be a nice touch aswell if they called it something like (FOR EXAMPLE) Spiderman: Three Lifes (Peter, Spiderman and the symbiote which takes over him for a bit). Kind of like a nod to say "Yeah ignore the last 3rd film, this is the real one" :)
All the choices listed suck. It feels like it would be more interesting to bring back Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi, but it doesn't feel right to disregard the newest Spider-Man movies. They should continue with the same story line from the last movie, but replace the director and cast.
