Mark Ruffalo: 'Marvel is Considering a Hulk Standalone Movie'

From Digital Spy:

Mark Ruffalo has confirmed that Marvel Studios is considering a Hulk standalone movie.

"I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it," Ruffalo told Digital Spy today (June 17). "When we did The Avengers it was basically 'No!', and now there is some consideration for it.

"But there's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut."

I honestly don't know why they are so opposed to it. Frankly, I loved Incredible Hulk and thought it was a well done comic book movie. It's not the greatest film, by far, but it's damn entertaining and I watch it more than I have some of Marvel's other films.

Same I was so impressed remember at the time incredible hulk and iron man were the only in house produced marvel films and they both blew me away. HULK was a terrible film just bad writing and directing.

I think the main problem with the incredible hulk was Ed Norton being an absolulte tool and saying he never wanted to play the character again because he doens't want to be known for being a superhero. What a douche.

It was wildly reported how much influence he had over that film he basically changed the whole script. Which I give him credit for as it was a good script but to pull that move is such a douche move

So you can understand why Marvel (Disney) are worried another film will flop as it will be the 3rd live action film in the space of about 12 years to had a 3rd actor. Don't get me wrong I was really impressed with Mark Ruffalo I think he plays the character well as a NICE GUY and I think that is what the hulk needs.

Yeah, I think Norton had some effect on it, as they don't want to keep switching actors out on the character. I could see that. Regardless, that film was still a lot of fun and had plenty of potential in there for growth. Would love to have some more conclusion to those leftover stories.

Don't really like the new guy that plays The Hulk.

darklordzor3600d ago

What about him aren't you digging?

SilentNegotiator3600d ago

I personally find him to be serviceable, but nothing really special.

Ruffallo seems like a cool dude. I'd like to buy him a beer one day.

And a hair cut.

SouthClaw3600d ago

He does seem like a genuinely nice guy like you could speak with him on the level and him not being a tool. There are some nice actors out there.

I would love to see a Hulk movie done properly. And a Silver Surfer movie would suit me just fine as well. Thank you.
