The ABC's of Death 2 26th Director Contest approaches the deadline, and more crazy films keep popping up!

This week in the continuing roller coaster that is the Blu-ray release schedule we are packed with both new and catalog releases. Just a few of the new releases include Schwarzenegger and Statham, there’s more bad teen supernatural melodrama, Soderbergh’s final film and the ”Indian” scientist from Short Circuit gets behind the camera. The catalog titles are even more diverse with beloved Japanese animation, a lot of schlocky horror, an early attempt to make a Marvel superhero movie, a vacation from hell and a lot of classic gangsters just to start with.
The ABCs of Death has gathered together directors, assigned them a letter and told them to make a short film relating to death. Marcel Sarmiento was assigned the letter D. His debut feature was Heavy Petting, a light dog-related romcom but his follow-up feature, Deadgirl, tugged him entirely in the other direction. Deadgirl relates the tale of two high school outcasts who discover a chained and naked dead girl who cannot die, completely refreshing the zombie genre, making it much more disturbing and distinguished.
Essentially, reviewing The ABCs of Death is to review 26 shorts related to death, linked only by the fact that each segment begins with one letter in the alphabet. There's no plot, you are solely there to see 26 different ways to die.
low score its either disappointing or the deaths are straightforward silly. if you want to watch crazy death scenes watch 1000 ways to die its hundreds more stories compared to 26. but in fairness i might get to see it for curiosity's sake.
