The big issues for Disney is that actors are on schedule, they have 5 movies that are already slotted and they want to start making a return on the 4.4 Billion they spent.
To me this is a cause for worry. Not that the two writers are not good, but rather Disney annouced a writer, a date, and production without a final storyline or script.
Cloning 101 or twin brother?
They just need to make sure it is a fun movie with a decent enough story. I do not want to see a movie that came to be simply to sell more toys and games.
I agree, I saw the trailer and I thought it was a new series on Starz or so. I could not believe it was a theatrical film.
For me when I heard of the film all I could ask was why. It has been done before in film and as a TV movie. There was a quasi sequel so why do another one and follow the same story? All they did was up the FX in the film. If people have not seen the original then they may like this but otherwise youdo have to wonder.
People are going to call me racist but I have to ask how much outrage would there be if they had cast a white Blade, Spawn, or Luke Cage. The character is white in the comic, he should remain white in film. We saw this with Electro in the new Spider-man who is a white character in the comic books.
I would cast them in Turtles.
Clone Wars got the axe simply as they did not control it. Cartoon Network had some say and they did not want to share it. There was talk it would move to Disney after their deal with Cartoon Network expired, but hey, why share money until then when you can cut them off, get the money for the unaired episodes and then start anew.
Neither they are following up the film with a comic series with an approved storyline.
I saw the movie first them the series. The movie followed the show and set up further adventures so what was in the series setup the film, and the film setup the story in the comics.
We just posted a piece on what they need to do. Mainly the cast is dull and you have supporting actors being asked to be leads and carry a series. They are simply not up to it especially with the bland stories we have had so far. They have lost 1/3 of their audience and each week they lose more. They need to make some changes while they can.
This is a very valid site, however things are not always so clear. They broke the news on CNN that Ford is in the film when our sources said he was undecided. We got flamed over this stance by their supporters who said it was true. Oddly enough, Ford the other day even said he was undecided about being involved and weeks after the posting said noting was final yet but it was looking good. Take it along with most Star Wars rumors with a grain of salt folks until you get a confirmation from Di...
Coming at you in 3D.
The studio did announce a writer and Dark Horse has a comic coming so there is still some movement. But I agree, it would be nice for FOX to say 2015 Prometheues 2.
That was news last month.
I just wish that James had not lost out on the rights as had he maintained them it would have allwoed for us to get true sequels/prequels from the creator himself. There is so much to tell yet people butcher it with their own spins. James gave us a golden canvas and yet people blow it.
I would love a movie about the future war. But I want the look from teh first two, HKs Plasma Beams dark cities loaded with rubble and skulls. Not the Salvation garbage.
I am curious that if it is indded a new trilogy that reboots ths series, how Arnold will be used. of course he will be a Terminator but would they stick with the same formula of one Terminator and would it be Arnold for all three or would he be the main one just for the new film. Not that he cannot pull it off its just I find it harder to believe that Skynet would send a 60+ year old looking Terminator. That being said, that would add depth to the infilitration unit as people would not be as ...
If it was this time next year I would be worried but its 2 years until the first film so as a result it is way to early to do it.
That is funny as Ridley Scott said parts 2 and 3 are going well and that they plan to start production beyond the writing stage soon.
