I am really curious how they will portray the Clock arena in the film.
Jim Rash was the writer and he does solid work on Community and has won and Oscar for his work as well.
The movie was basically a parody of action films. It is so over the top and filled with plot holes and bad lines that it sets new standards for futility. But it is dumb entertainment you can enjoy as it is just so easy to find the faults and easier to just enjoy the ride.
I did some checking and was told that this is based on an early script that the director has sense made changes to.
Its an odd thing. He was really shaken by the tragedy and did that anti-N.R.A. ad. Being from Canada where violent crimes are rare I could see how this bothered him. That being said, you did the role, you took the money. It is his job to do everything he can to make this movie a hit. Now, he could do the p.r. and take that as a platform to say in light of what happened I am conflicted about the movie and feel that we need to make changes. Then as a result I have established a charity that doe...
Do you think they will give Dougray Scott a chance since he was the original choice for the character.
I saw it the other day out of boredom. It is not a summer movie, not enough action to sustain it. There have been those who said like "Battlefield Earth" there is a lot of scientology behind the film, Will has been very chummy with Tom Cruise. But simply it is dull and takes some real leaps with science and evolution.
I have met and interviewed Uwe many times. He is a very nice and smart person. he even had me do walk on segments in Postal and far Cry. He has done some great drama like Tunnel Rats, Stoic, and Rampage. He said that you have to do the game movies to get the cash up to do the drama. He also did a great biopic on Box Max Schmelling which is now on Netflix, a truly captivating film.
I think they simply ran out of ideas. The cast and script was very much like they were going through the motions and forgot what made the first two such gigantic hits. Shocking humor with wit and unexpected events. This time it was just crude with no wit and had a mean tone.
Exactly and with the box office it brought in, you can bet 7 and possibly 8 are in talks as 7 is already filming.
I found it interesting that "Forbidden Planet" is just sitting there and despite huge sales for Babylon 5: The Lost Tales, Warner still does not support the franchise.

Thing is the studios and cinemas do not want this. I did an interview with one chain who said they have no desire to do this. When I pressed it they said there are movies filmed in 3D that do not look good and movies converted that looked better than shot in 3D. I asked for examples and they could not give me one. The fact is cinemas had to pay the very costly upgrades needed to show 3D. Studios said we will make sure you have plenty of options and a 2D option for those that do not want to p...
The biggest issue is that studios and cinemas are tricking fans. The vast majority of 3D films are in fact lab converted 3D which is a far inferior product to shot in 3D. People do not know this, they pay the surcharge and get a bad taste for 3D. I have long maintained that they need to disclose in the ads, posters, and box office if a film was shot in 3D or converted so consumers can make a better informed choice.
Good for him. Kickstarter was supposed to be for small companies and people with ideas to get help to get started. Not for millionaire actors, companies, and such to fund projects so they could recoup millions and not risk assets.
Universal just issued a statement saying that they have decided to bring JP 4 to audiences at a later date and how they are excited to be working with the director and look forward to bringing the best film to audiences and that the extra time will allow them to do the job properly. Ok, so that explains the delays but what about the mass firings? Work not up to snuff?
Got the word from our Universal rep. Its a mess, factions are divided and fighting within. What did they expect? They announce a film and a release date with no director, cast, or final script. Then they pick a director who has done 1 movie, 1. A 200K indy film with no stars or real FX and say ok, now handle a big budget, CGI, FX, Stars, expectations, and oh yeah, film in 3D. Badly handled mess but at least the studio was smart enough to say this is not going to work lets fix the issues now r...
This could be very good, or very bad.
I am really not thrilled with the casting of Foxx nor the look so far.
She was kinder than most but not that much.
