Can this fan theory about A Nightmare on Elm Street make the series even better?
The kids of Elm Street don't know it yet, but something is coming to get them in their dreams.
The Horror Movie That Almost Was video series looks back at Peter Jackson's attempt to make A Nightmare on Elm Street 6: The Dream Lover.

Works for me. I'm not a horror afficionado, at all, but I have somehow seen most of these. There is merit in what you say.
Meh, I prefer New Nightmare to stand the way it is. The idea of Freddy being the personification of some otherworldly essence that needs to be trapped by telling stories sounds way better than having a completely disjointed story that skips over entire films. It also works to explain why they kept making more of them after they started getting really stupid.
