IGN - There's been a pretty big resurgence of period-piece television as of late. Instead of opting for the TV movie or miniseries route, many programs have evolved into elaborate, big-budget television series. From fantasy hybrids like Game of Thrones, to Rome, The Tudors, Camelot, Spartacus, and now The Borgias. It would seem the pay-TV renaissance now includes a piece of the Renaissance itself.
