Push-Start Review: The Thing (2011)

"What actually makes this film worse is that it plays it so safe that it never even jumps the shark. Put it this way, at least we had a reason to see and hate Alien Vs Predator: Requiem. All in all, this Thing belongs in a landfill."

I'd rate this movie a 7/10,this score is way to low

Is that the dude from Vampire's Assistant?

edwest4527d ago

It does look like John C. Riley lol. The scene where it started singing Mr Cellophane really freaked me out.

I didn't get to go see and now it's playing at the dollar movie so I may just have to go this next week and catch it on the big screen before it comes out on dvd so I can decide if I want to add it to my collection.

I need to find a dollar movie near me, it's the only way I can afford to go.

alycakes4526d ago

Even my dollar movie theater went up to $1.75 but that's still better than most and it's still in a nice area and you don't have to worry too much about where you're at.

pomoluese4526d ago

Hey $1.75 isn't bad compared to $11. I always just get up and go to the showing before 12 at AMC since it's $5

The new Thing lacked the suspense and "whoisit" feeling of Carpenter's film. Also the film suffers from cheap over use of CG.

Awful waste of a film, too bad.

REALLY? I thought the movie was pretty good for a prequel.
