Gears of War Movie Adaptation Moving Forward With New Producer

It appears that plans for a big screen adaptation for the video game franchise Gears Of War (which has also spawned DC comic books) are moving ahead, as Ted and 47 Ronin producer Scott Stuber has gained the film rights and will develop the script with Epic.

I would really hope that this one will turn out good cause it's one of the well known franchise in video game. Hopefully a great casting as well as a great script.

Lmao, this movie is going to be terrible and we all know it. Gears is one of the games I love on Xbox, but its Hollywood. All they see is big guns, aliens, and lots of action and thats all we will get.

Ratchet and Clank is so far the only movie looking to be a good adaptation. Maybe after that releases we will get better movies.

Your right but I'm still hoping cause there are a ton of big videogame franchises line up in production like assassins creed, god of war, etc. and for sure some of those will be disappointing but i do hope some of those will be good as well.

Ratchet and Clank will be good because it is an animated movie and so far videogame animated movies are quite good and follows the storyline. it's the opposite on the live action adaptation cause there are only 2-3 that are good.

Because look at what Hollywood is going after.

I don't mean to dis-respect Hollywood as thats my area of study, but they need to go back to stories. God of War, Gears, even Assassins Creed is all about the action in them and Hollywood wants to exploit the action.

Assassins Creed could be a good story, but it will most likely be a westernized karate movie style. God of War is just Sony wanting to live off what 300 once did.

Listen to people talk about the movies and so on. The "story" is normally an after thought. Some directors are smart and pretend story is important, then turn around and release Resident Evil.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Hey! They should make a movie from another video game too...hmm...like Doom! Or Prince of Persia! Or Bloodrayne! Or Postal! Or Far Cry! Or Alone in the Dark! Or Final Fantasy! Or Super Mario Bros! Or Resident Evil! Or Max Payne! Or Silent Hill!

You see what I'm getting at? This movie will suck. I love the games, but there is no chance this will be any good.

yup those movies were not good and i hope that future videogame franchises will learn with those mistakes. there are quite a few that were good though like the first mortal kombat, Final Fantasy 7 advent children, the first silent hill.

I hope that some of the video game movies that are line up for a movie release like assassins creed, gears of war, etc. hit the mark so that it will open new doors like a possibility to finally see a Metal Gear Solid movie that we all know will be epic if done right in the movie.
