The Voice Of TV: Many immediately compared NBC’s The Playboy Club to AMC’s Mad Men for one reason and one reason only – they deal with the same era. Mad Men is a brilliant piece of television with one of the best supporting cast of characters out there. The Playboy Club could only wish that their show can equal half of what AMC’s Emmy award winning franchise has. Mad Men it is not, and for that, I’m happy. Sure they dress the same but that’s where the similarities end between the two shows. I had no intentions of thinking Nick Dalton (Eddie Cibrian) was the next Don Draper. My question to the producers are, what were your intentions with that character?
