Slowly but surely, Twilight star Robert Pattinson is making moves to expand and prolong his career post-Edward Cullen, and the cinematic adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's Bel-Ami is another step in that journey. Russian site Spletnik has published several new stills of the nineteenth century fable, most of which feature Pattinson in a clinch with his female co-stars.
Possesses a certain seductive charm in part because of the elegant set and costume designs, but mostly because of the performances; Pattinson’s take on a mannered scoundrel is intriguingly nuanced.

For all of its sex and scandal, Bel Ami lacks the passion needed to make its story of lust and power a memorable one.

Glad to see Pattinson really branching out from Twilight stuff. Maybe he won't get stuck in a rut because of the role. I will say though, that I doubt he'd be able to seduce Ricci and Uma Thurman.
Saw Robert Pattinson in Water for Elephants recently and all I can think is Twilight. :P
