The Beaver premiered at Austin’s SXSW film fest last week, and co-star Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) took the time to sit down and discuss the film. The film stars Jodie Foster (who also directed) and Mel Gibson, and portrays the emotional journey of a family man who deals with his depression by using a beaver hand puppet. Gibson plays Walter Black, a psychologically challenged father and husband, and Yelchin plays his oldest son Porter. Porter is terrified of ending up like his father, and spends most of the movie trying to distance himself
Mel Gibson's career once hit the lowest point over his controversial remarks. But he has been slowing making his way back to the business. With his award-winning directorial comeback, Hacksaw Ridge, aside, here are five of Mel's movies he acted in that we recommend to you.

“There’s something missing. There’s someone missing. Anton should be here.” So said JJ Abrams tonight before the world premiere of Star Trek Beyond at San Diego’s Embarcadero Marina Park Amphitheater about the late Anton Yelchin. The actor, who plays Pavel Chekov in the rebooted Star Trek franchise died June 19 in an automobile accident at his Los Angeles home.

LOS ANGELES – With the imminent release of Star Trek Beyond – the third of the J.J. Abrams-era of Trek films – a fourth is already, “100% yes,” says producer Abrams.
i think in this timeline this is an entirely appropriate thing. if they were to go another route with an entirely different cast, then i think it's ok.
Is the character of Chekov himself going to be killed off? “I have thought about it, we’re working on it, and it’s too early to talk about it,” he said.
So....they are possibly replacing him. Which, they should because there was a successor to the original trek's Chekov too. As for Yelchin, he was a fantastic actor. RIP.
