Will Ferrell Helping Steve Carell's Exit From 'The Office' With Four-Episode Arc

Will Ferrell has committed to a four-episode arc on NBC's comedy The Office. He will play a branch manager who comes from the home office and is just as inappropriate as Steve Carell's Michael Scott character. NBC is still figuring out exactly when the episodes will air, but Ferrell has committed to one episode beyond Carell’s finale, to help create a bridge.

Wrong source
Deadline is the source. That should be the main link. Also, don't need the Steve Carell tag.

this could be good, but im really hope they choose one of their existing characters.

JL4838d ago

For what? To replace Michael (Carell)? Ferrell isn't coming in for that. He's just coming into to kinda soften the blow and help with the transition.

tunaks14836d ago

i know he is only signed on for 4 episodes, but im sure the idea has crossed the minds of the creators. Again I hope they go with someone from the show.

This could be very interesting indeed. Could be hilarious in fact. I always watch The Office, but these should be must-see episodes.

I've tried to watch ti a few times and couldn't get into it. This will go down as another comedy that lots of people love that I just didn't like (I'm looking at you Seinfeld you over rated piece of garbage).

I like Carell, he's funny and was hilarious in The 40yr old Virgin but Will Farrell is a buffoon and I can't stand him.

I like Seinfeld, but do think it's overrated to a degree. Like, some will call it the greatest sitcom ever. Not me.

I definitely like Carell. I also like Will Ferrell, though there are times he can be a bit of a miss.

"Overrated piece of garbage" is quite harsh I believe. Perhaps just because Seinfeld is my all-time favorite show, and one that I still watch today. There are countless references from day to day that I pull directly from that show, and I get a laugh every time. George Costanza, for me, is one of the funniest TV characters of all time.

Just for reference, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sons and Daughters round out my top 3 favorite sitcoms of all time. The Office would be very very close fourth on that list.

Hoping Rhys Darby gets to replace Steve Carrell, he's PERFECT for the role.
