'So he we are, 9 years after Potter-mania exploded into cinemas we reach the beginning of the end. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 is without doubt one of the most anticipated films of the year; with fans clambering to see their beloved characters get closer to the end, and ordinary film-goers curious to see how far these films have really come. Personally, I went in hoping that it would make up for what I considered to be dull and baggy entries in the series in Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince, and that it would perhaps reach a new series high and perhaps even surpass Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. Unfortunately, despite the few times this film really threatens to soar, it too often falls flat on its face in this boring, overlong introduction to a film that we should already be watching.'
