It's tragic that he isn't going to direct, not only because he was an integral part of the franchise, but because he has reached that point where he could put his foot down and studio heads would listen.
I would love for him to direct and help finish this, but the franchise can survive without him, as other franchises have with different directors.
Only problem I see with the Indiana Jones franchise is what Disney plans to do with it after Harrison hangs up the whip.
