It is directed by Jeff Nichols, who was behind such films as Midnight Special and Mud. It is based on the true court case of Loving v. Virginia that was taken to the Supreme Court, who ruled laws prohibiting interracial marriage are unconstitutional. Loving tells the true to life story of Richard (Edgerton) and Mildred (Negga)
