WOW247: Stephen King confirmed that the adaptation of his The Dark Tower series will be going ahead, and that it will star Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba in the leading roles.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
This is the best news I've heard in a long time. They keep changing their mind on this and it would be such a great story. I can't wait especially with these two actors.
Lets get this straight, Stephen King wrote Roland as white man with blue "bombardier's" eyes, constantly going into detailed descriptions of his looks and appearance over the course of the books. Illustrations, drawings and fan art have now created a crystal clear picture of who Roland is and who he's been built up to be for 34 years.
The story also heavily featured lines about his skin colour by the characters Roland comes across, lines like "white honky", "white bread" and "cracker" for example especially by a black woman called Susannah, one of his later companions, it's the dynamic of the relationship when they first meet, like she hates the fact he's white but obviously they then become friends.
Yet they've cast Idris Elba as Roland....I just don't get it, you've took away most of what was there in the books and the build up of the relationships toward Roland, even by other people he comes across on his search for the Dark Tower.
Hollywood is not all there at times. Race swap for the sake of it.
