IGN: Salem closed out its second season with an exciting, game-changing episode that brought many unexpected, interesting changes to the show as part of the fallout between Mary and Countess Marburg's feud for supremacy.
First off, I want to commend last week's episode for basically going through with the whole "rise of Satan" angle. Mary's son was dunked in the black ooze and re-emerged as the Prince of Darkness. One always wonders, on any given TV show, if and how good will triumph over evil and whether or not villains will be able to win occasionally and this show has now ended both of its seasons with big, dastardly plans being brought to fruition. So that, I feel, is an achievement in its own right.
