Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Princess Leia, R2-D2, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO, Qui-Gon Jinn, Yoda, the list goes on. But, for each one of these important characters, there are many lesser characters who serve an important purpose in the Star Wars Universe.

They're all out of the films for the better. Starkiller embodied the very dangers of what happens when you play with fire – err, canon. And Kyle Katarn's more fun to read about and play than he is to watch.

Starkiller was C-canon back in the day until all EU were kicked to the Legends universe. So even then, he barely mattered. Plus, they were playing with third level canon. Not much risk there.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume that, nor do I really agree. Katarn was an interesting character who had a solid VA in Star Wars games. And though I haven't played TFU II yet, Starkiller was a pretty interesting idea in the first one.
