Do We Really Need A Deadpool Movie?

The only thing that provides a shred of hope for the Deadpool movie is the R-rating. This will at least ensure the potential for uncharted territory. If 20th Century Fox truly wants to make a Deadpool movie with any hope for originality, then it has to be R-rated. If I was a gambling man, I’m betting we don’t get an R-rated theatrical Deadpool. We’ll no doubt get some watered down PG-13 version with an R-rated or ‘Unrated’ Blu-ray release. I think the odds of an R-rated Deadpool movie hitting theaters is about as likely as an NC-17 Black Widow film.

Yeah, someone should push the boundaries and make an R-rated comic book movie. I think Deadpool would be a good character to do the trick because he's lesser known to most movie-going audiences compared to, for instance, Spider-Man.

Zack Snyder already did that with Watchmen. I LOVED the film, but making a movie R-Rated cuts the audience down considerably.

I completely forgot about Watchmen. But still, I'm thinking more of what we think of when we think of a comic book movie. Watchmen wasn't for everyone just from a stylistic point-of-view. I'm thinking more along the lines of the more-grounded comic book movies.

Gonna be honest, I find Watchmen pretty grounded (aside from Manhattan, obviously Lol). PLus, the film is only stylized and fancy because the graphic novel is. Hell, the film blatantly copies the novel quite a bit, which I don't have a problem with much.

Last I checked, we didn't *need* any movie, but I know I'd love a Deadpool flick and so would plenty of other folks. How many of them would see it in a theater, who can say, but an R-rated superhero film is tough these days in a post Kick-ass universe.

I wonder if they could get away with a PG-13 version if the rating was part of the joke. You know, Deadpool getting bleeped out and joking about "woah, sorry, no beheadings in this film. It's for the kids."

Bleeping out curse words in an actual film has always been a thought of mine. Of course, I wouldn't want it in like a GoodFellas type movie or something, but more comical like Deadpool is. It could be the difference from an R-rating to a PG-13 rating too. It may sound a bit weird and dumb, but bleeping out words is very funny to me.

Robot Chicken honestly wouldn't be as funny without the bleeps every 5 seconds. Lol

yeah, lets just see how it goes. i think it can work

I hate what hollywood has come to. Too scared to make an ADULT movie. Just have to look at Robocop to see what has become of the "adult" movie.

I know its a smaller audience but that is the price you pay for premium content.

need?

probably not, but i damn sure want one. ^_^
