300: Rise of an Empire Review | Entertainment Buddha

00: Rise of an Empire (300: RoaE) may not have been directed by Zack Snyder, but Noam Murro made sure that it felt like it was, which is a great thing for this 300 pre-sequel (not a true prequel, nor a true sequel.) The iconic fast paced cinematography mixed with slow motion zoom effects makes a triumphant return in 300: RoaE, which boasts some excellent stunt work by the likes of Eric Linden and the plethora of bare chested, chiseled ab-having stunt team, who are the true stars of this extremely gory, yet entertaining action film. Make no mistakes about it, 300: RoaE is as manly of a film as it gets thanks to its vivid stylized action set pieces, over-the-top violence (so many lost body parts), Eva Green’s eroticism, and a plot that’s light on character development, but full of testosterone.
