Troy Writes:
"In 2006, movie goers were treated to an unlikely blockbuster when the original 300 hit theaters. Based off of a Frank Miller graphic novel of the same name, and directed by Zack Snyder, fresh off of his remake of 2004’s Dawn of the Dead, we watched the final days of 300 Spartan warriors who dared to take on the Persian Army. Not a cinema classic by any stretch, 300 was pure popcorn fun, filled with bare chested men, slow-motion action scenes, and a then fresh visual style. Fast forward eight years and we find ourselves getting a late to the party sequel in 300: Rise of an Empire, that almost forgets the key aspects of the original movie that spawned it, lacking in the most important factor for any movie; entertainment."
