Deadline:
Already the biggest thing on TV after NFL Football, The Walking Dead’s very good week just got a bit better. With Live+3 numbers now in, the October 13 Season 4 debut of the AMC zombie apocalypse series added another 4.1 million viewers to the 16.1 million result of Live+Same Day. That 20.2 million viewership total gives The Walking Dead premiere the title of the most watched non-sports telecast in cable history. That also now means Walking Dead has eaten the lunch of the previous Live+3 non-sports record holder, Disney Channel’s High School Musical 2 from those long ago days of 2007. The Disney Channel movie drew 18.2 million viewers in Live+3, a 1 million addition over the 17.2 million it got in its August 17, 2007 telecast. The previous Walking Dead Live+3 high was the Season 3 finale which got 15.4 million viewers total and 10.2 million among the 18-49s. In terms of the key adults 18-49 demographic, The Walking Dead continued its top spot hold and added another 2.8 million viewers to a total of 13.2 million.
