Kick-Ass 2 should feel refreshing, with its underdog story about regular citizens trying to be something more. Instead, it's stale and feels like a rip-off of its predecessor. Although there are a few inspired sequences, they're usually not up to par with the first film and are often offset by logical inconsistencies and WTF moments. To make matters worse, scenes that are meant to have any kind of emotional resonance simply fall flat. Any semblance it bears to the first film is purely on a superficial level. With pedestrian action, a boring storyline and half-hearted subplots that fail to connect on any level, moviegoers would be well-advised to skip it.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
