Ryan at Skewed and Reviewed took in the film and despite having low expectations fueled by the 11th hour press screening, he said the film is much better than he expected and fun.
From what I just read it sort of feels like " The Brothers Grimm " of 2005. There is also a very good Korean version of a Hansel and Gretel film ( 2008 ) released by Tokyo Shock that's already out on Blu-Ray/DVD.
I got more of a Van Helsing vibe. Bit more action than Grimm. The fact that it sat on a shelf for ages is a clue. Then came the 3D conversion and the fact that they only showed it to press 2-3 hrs before it opened to the public and even then in some markets.
Actually want to go see this. Looks like a fun couple of hours.
We are thinking about it. It was a crazy week so staff covered the screeners. We have Bullet to the Head tonight.
