Activision Will Never Make a Call of Duty Movie

In a profile for the New York Times, Kotick reveals that he has had several offers from movie studios to make a Call of Duty film, but has turned down every single one.

According to the publication, Kotick states that movies based on video games rarely please devoted fans and "could taint the brand." (Call of Duty: Black Ops, Cinema)

"could taint the brand."

Probably the most ironic statement I've read in a long time.

Yeah. I'm sorry to say the endless sequels that add nothing new to the franchise have already tainted the franchise.

Not to mention a Call of Duty movie is one of the easiest possible movies to make. Just cast some good tough guys and blow crap up ala Michael Bay. That is all the games are they barely have any plot and what little they do makes no sense anyway so all a movie would need is big explosions.
