Not to say that Will Smith would be good for a Spawn movie, but Will Smith doesn't do flops, sorry. So, even if he did make a Spawn movie, chances are in his favor that it would still perform well.

Will Smith is like the 11th ranked actor/actress in terms of box office gross, all-time. Even if you look at average box office gross, he's ranked 6th of all-time. Even then, that's only because the top 3 are occupied by the Harry Potter trio (Emma, Daniel and Rupert). Thus, not entirely sure it's fair to count those 3 since their averages are only so high because 99% of the movies they've done were Harry Potter movies. So it's a bit skewed for those young actors.

Maybe not a commercial flop but a flop for fans of the original spawn. He's too likable and nothing like a harded spawn.

Michael Jai White needs to be recognized more. I suggest bringing him back, and make the film similar to Incredible Hulk, where it can either be interpreted as a sequel, as well as a stand alone film.
