a Lannister or 2 will get whats coming to them, but even that doesn't change the power balance.
@Bolts
its not about death, the plot doesn't move anywhere. its now on the level of a daily soap opera that just goes on and on and on..
I burned threw all the books in 2 months after the first season, sad to say it's all downhill from here, it's not just about people dying, the plot itself dosnt move anywhere, at the last book things are pretty much the same as now.
also new antagonists get conceived in an arbitrary way, and bad situations just pop up from nowhere, it's like a reverse Deus Ex Machina.
don't want to spoil much to you, but even they die
Luke Cage?
Zod wanted Kal-El to kill him.
as far as comics this actually happened in one of the comics timelines.
the fights were great but he did a little to much of "saving at the last second" it stuck out.
comparing with all those movies is not simple, because CA and Thor were new and faced different expectations, they just had to work and they did.
Man of Steel is a reboot to a classic character not only in comics, but also in film, the Reeve films captured the imagination of a generation and endured for long.
Batman Begins faced the same with the Keton movies and prevailed as the new definition , and while MoS is a good movie in itself, it left me wanting mor...
so far the reviews are spot-on
- "Man of Steel" is joyless
- In 'Man of Steel,' Henry Cavill soars over an erratic plot
- Why So Serious, Superman?
- Spectacular but empty. Looking for Nolan's trademark solemnity? It's there. How about a dour, pensive hero? Yup, got that too. What it doesn't have is much character or soul.
my view is the film is very "entertaining" and "interesting", bu...
just came back from the movie, I would say its a great superhero film, but not one of the greatest, it was to serious for a superhero movie, this would be great for Batman but its to much for Superman.
Michael Shannon had a mean look but his ton of voice just felt off.
also the pacing felt very compressed, they tried to cram to much in one movie.
as for Lois, I think things moved to fast between them.
after all is said the a...
@Simon_Brezhnev
in comics "retconnes" happen very often, Lex Luthor was originally a pure mad scientist before being turned into a power hungry businessman, and last time I checked he is a mix of the 2. Jocker was originally just a clown before turning into a nihilistic psychopath.
that is how he was presented before the plot twist. I think it was brilliant.
the original Mandarin character was based on racist stereotypes that wer OK in the 60's, that why they had to change him.
best IM movie of the three, the retro end credits are fantastic.
the first 2 Spidy movies were great, and the reboot is also a god re-start, only problem it was too fast, a few more years were needed to let people forget the first trilogy a bit.
read and watched plenty, that's why I'm not comfortable with this.
tone isn't everything, the problem with GL was the story.
and the DCU is supposed to be one with more fantastic stuff and Marvel more grounded.
this is my only problem with the Superman movie so far, everything else looks great.
not liking the dark, over dramatic tone of the remake, it worked for batman because he is a dark character in a dark city with dark stories. Superman is supposed to be somewhat of an antithesis of that with bright metropolice and stories about adventure. the tone of the Avengers movie would have been perfect for him.
i think the "present" will be the First Class timeline, and the "future" will be the trilogy timeline.
it could be a complex thing like someone jumping back in time to the 60's and dose something to alter the future, it's kind of like the Star Trek movie, and a mix of Days of Future Past and Age of Apocalypse.
the Death Gate Cycle is a favorite of mine, characters and setting less of a LotR clone like most other series are
more interested in the plot
did Disny address the expanded universe? will they ignore it and treat at as non-canon?
