Look they certainly aren't great as the originals, but they really didn't have to be. We still got iconic designs, new story, no recycling of content and most of all memorable characters.
Get some perspective and compare them to the Disney new trilogy...now that is a atrocious. Prequels weren't that bad.
Awful movie. You know it's gone to hell when they have to stoop to 'awkward jokes' ala Marvel style.
Don't listen to the haters, nothing wrong with it as a film. It's just that bringing the movie back to being an Alien killer story is not ambitious after they tried to expand the backstory with Prometheus. Sure Prometheus was a let down with problems in the story, but at least it tried to make the Alien franchise a bit less two dimensional.
She was the worst part of the sterile movie.
After the atrocious Force Awakens, I won't be seeing this at the cinemas. It's a rental at best for me.

Nah objectively not a 5/5 movie, it's a 3/5 movie. It's a very clean movie and things moved/wrapped up too conveniently to make a story. It was almost as if they were ticking boxes to appease fans as they went. But I don't blame them, they obviously wanted to be conservative with trying to open up a franchise again. I can understand why some people may tout this as a great movie as it's easy to like, but take off those nostalgia glasses and you'll see the flaws stack up.
If an actor/actress is complaining about pay they aren't doing it right. Acting is just the side job; advertisement or product placement is the real money maker and certainly women have more opportunities here than men.

Never understood the SW fanboys who absolutely stick by the original version, I mean CP3O driving the Land Speeder? No, just no.
After watching it twice and in 3D (Yes I know why did do this)...I still to this day do not understand why they went to the resort planet. The little side quest makes absolutely no sense, in fact sitting on their hands could've produced a better outcome.
