The clone wars really help explain the setting and how the events in revenge turned out the way they did. My main issue at the time is how many of the jedi deaths when order 66 was executed, were just laughably convenient/quick, especially palpatine killing 3 jedi masters in a few seconds.

Oh hell why not the franchise is already a walking dead, just Lucasfilm has yet to get the memo. They already destroyed the established lore of star wars, killed off the old cast, the new cast is bland and not likeable. Both the rebellion and the first order act more like a snl parody version of the original rebel alliance and empire than a legitimate military faction. Both sides are beyond incompetent, short of the new season of clone wars, everything else star wars related is a hard pass. S...

He is a large guy that plays, strong hard guy roles. "He will put his name to any movie or tv show as long as his mug is on the screen at all times" You have to get your name out there and strike the iron when it's hot, otherwise your time in Hollywood will expire and you will get no more offers. Hello Mcfly anyone home.

Likely 90% of actors are doomed to b or c tier actors, there is a very finite space for the top rank of actors, not everyone has the connecti...

It is almost like type casting is a thing.

Resistance looks awesome, no it looks like utter crap, compared to both the clone wars and rebels.

Slight problem gunn was also demanding Roseanne be fired for her offensive planet of the apes joke, and relished with glee as she lost her tv series and the backlash she receives. Rules for thee but not for me.

Liberals and progressives have been scalping conservatives that say stupid or bigoted things for years and are suddenly want the mob to put the pitchforks down and have forgiveness when it's one of their own.

Btw dumbass mike cernovich, has chi...

Wow. I miss when cartoons were made to be entertaining, not just preachy and ridiculous.

So it is the most important film because it shows a fictional black society being technologically advanced and not barely clawing their way out of 3rd world status or sliding down further into it aka south Africa or Zimbabwe or because it might show a lgbt character on screen in a marvel film.

Thank you carl the cuck, most people are not going to give a shit so long as the movie is good, and the characters feel real, but continue to obsess over stupid tokenism.

That is a given the only question, is how much is luke going to look incompetent and helpless in order to make rey look that much more of an amazing strong empowered woman by comparison.

He was probably as powerful if not more so than master yoda in the eu, but so far i don't think anything from the eu is relevant to the new series.

That was in the expanded universe, and some of it was fairly logical ie reestablishment of the jedi order, the remnants of the empire eventually making peace with the rebel alliance and some really crazy jumping the shark things. Yuszon vong, storm trooper zombies ect.

I seriously hope they don't touch thrawn or mara jade, it is bad enough as it currently is with rey instantly being a master of everything despite growing up alone on a desert planet, and the first order ...

That is funny, because she is the least interesting major character in the new series thus far.

I would still like to know how she becomes a master of the force in 2 days, and will see also replace leia was the top resistance diplomat/general.

Might as well since they already made her a master at every single other important skill needed by the group.

Although it will be hilarious to see what reasons they give to try and explain it vs the countless other force users that spent decades to a lifetime to master the force in the star wars universe.

I would rather have a interesting female character like mara jade from the expanded universe than someone as bland as rey.

Well at least the visuals were good, suddenly the prequels don't seem as bad as I remember them.

And individual nit-pick that was probably the worst lightsaber battle sequence since new hope.

Actually the second time was worse for me, because the hype was over and I started noticing really odd/lazy writing choices.

So no one saw episode 4 were luke and han gave each other big hug after the destruction of the death star in celebration?

Some of you people are really reaching with this one.

Really looked more to me how every other character in the film, should be differing to rey on everything in regards to how the force works, lightsaber combat, piloting and spacecraft mechanics.

odd how despite being stranded on jakku since she was a small child, she is apparently a master of everything.

I half expect to see her teaching luke about the force in the next movie.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS(sorry for the caps)

Ignore this post if you don't want to read about the movie.

"Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Gilbert reunites with Yates and others when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and...

In this culture where anything women do is amazing and men are viewed as toxic/violent or utterly incompetent.

Yeah any movie do this type of pandering to push this woman's superiority narrative is one I wont touch.

You wanted to redo it with a more modern audience in mind then do it like the new ghostbusters cartoon series.

It was very diverse well before the social justice brigade was pushing their dogma and branding others as heretics ...

i think a lesser known yet still talented foreign actor would be a better choice than afflack, i don't see him as batman i just don't. Although the breaking bad guy bryan crayston(i think), looks like he could pull off lex luthor.
