I dont think Stark was necessarily portrayed as "evil" in CW , or that his side of things were misrepresented in ideology . That kind of things comes earlier in stories like the Crossing , or later in post CW avengers/iluminati stories .
I think that it's just so much easier in book ultimately about superheroics , to relate or agree with cap .

I must say i chuckled at the whole "mature films for REAL comics fans" bit , when one of the biggest complaint , on the paper side you see from grizzled fans , on every online venues , is about a perceived obsession of turning every books into something "gritty" "dark" ,"mature" , over telling fun stories , even if serialized and not always self contained .

Most of what you described , despite the obvious powerup of Bobby , is told by others , or shown from future version , rather than actually used .
