There is an end, the creator has said there is planned to be a happy, satisfying ending, but while it is raking in the money they are not intending to go there yet. I just fear that the actors themselves will bail out before the natural conclusion which could mean the story takes a totally different turn on the TV than to the comic book.
Casino Royale (and in some ways Quantum Of Solace) pushed the genre forwards with a new, darker, bolder Bond, Skyfall shifted it back towards the older style of Bond movie with loads of nods to the past films, but Spectre threw it right back to the Pierce Brosnan days with even more throwbacks that really didn't move the series on, and it is no wonder that Daniel Craig is growing bored of it. He probably agreed to sign up based on the strength of the Casino script and agreed a longer deal...
The term "Awful" seems a bit harsh to describe the 1st film. Granted, it was a fantastic idea that failed to live up to expectations as the movie went along, particularly the very unsatisfying end that felt like half the movie was still missing. But there are far worse films that deserve the title of "Awful".
