CBS got on the board this morning with its first drama pilot orders this season. Greenlighted are Baby Big Shot, a legal drama written by Dana Calvo (TNT’s Franklin & Bash) and executive produced by Kevin Falls, who will serve as showrunner, and Elementary, a modern-day Sherlock Holmes series from writer Rob Doherty.

So it sounds like they're going to try to do what BBC did with Sherlock Holmes. Good luck with that. I love Sherlock Holmes so I'm all for more of the character. However, Sherlock (on BBC) is absolutely brilliant and damn near perfect. I can't imagine them topping that. And Benedict Cumberbatch is probably the best Sherlock Holmes I've ever seen. Really, I just don't see them topping it, thus will seem like something of a rip-off.
I think I'll stick with the BBC version, even if I only watch it when they show it on PBS which is rather sporadic.
I know...I have to wait for it to show on PBS too. I like it too. I wait for all the shows to hit PBS. Dr Who, MI-5, Torchwood, and Sherlock Holmes.
