'The Thing' Journeys to DVD This Winter

The prequel to John Carpenter’s cult classic will be coming to DVD and Blu-ray this winter on January 31, 2012. The movie will release in a 2-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack as well as a single-disc DVD. The Thing will hit On Demand and Digital Download on the same day.

Sweet, ill be buying this. Its crazy how fast movies come out on dvd now, i remember it used to take almost 9 months for something to come out

Yea I think the average turnaround is about 4 months these days. Thats why I'm never too concerned about missing a movie in theaters and most of the time just wait for the DVD.

well i think hangover 2 should of came out earlier cuz it felt like a long time since i seen it in theatres

im probably just used to the recent trend of blu-ray releases coming out so fast that when they do the switcharoo i start to scratch my head lol

Yea, I think Hangover II came out in theaters something like 7 months ago. So definitely has been a long time for that one. But, most have roughly a 4 month turnaround. I think the Hangover delay may have possibly been due to the several lawsuits.
