Comingsoon: Warner Bros. Digital Distribution has provided us with the first clip from the "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" digital series and announced that the series will premiere on April 12th:
I want to see Sub-Zero and Scorpion in action ASAP.
I was going to post this earlier, thats how amped I was when I saw it. Looks a lot better than expected. The acting is a little eh, but its watchable.
Amped? Really? I was kinda disappointed with that. Not that it was bad. It just didn't seem Mortal Kombat-ish at all to me.
For something thats free on Youtube, its pretty sweet. I wasn't expecting it to be this kind of quality, so thats why im kinda happy with it.
Well I will agree it's good quality and seems pretty well done. My main gripe with it though is it just doesn't seem like what I imagined a Mortal Kombat show to look like.
I was thinking the same thing. The entire fight sequence feels extremely forced to me. I know thats what MK is about, but you should still build it up.
looks pretty decent, honestly, it could have been much, much worse.
Definitely could've been much worse. It's just not what I'd expect from a Mortal Kombat movie.
It has nowhere near the budget of a movie.
I'm not talking about the budget or production quality at all. Just the style of it. It doesn't look Mortal Kombat-ish.
@JL: That's kind of what they wanted, though. They wanted the concept and characters, but not the overly fantastical elements.
See, that's the thing, though. For me it's not really MK without the fantastical elements.
I can definitely respect that viewpoint, JL. Trust me, big fan of both of the movies. Over the top and ridiculous action movies that really went for being true to the video games. Just ignore that the Lightning God has a lisp :p
God, this looks awesome but WHY can't they just make a movie. The original 7 min clip was SOOO SWEET.
Because y'know, that'll actually PLEASE the fans. Everyone knows Hollywood continually crushes fanboy dreams one franchise at a time. Id rather have faithful and epic shorts than a disappointing and unfaithful adaptation film of MK.
I think they're making this origin story in preperation for a film reboot. Each one of these episodes focuses on a different MK fighter I believe. Perfect lead into a film.
Lets hope these "shorts" get enough attention so that we can someday see a full length feature!
I wish these guys could do Live Action shorts for Tekken.
Note to self, never fight in an area where grenade shooting rifles are just hanging around. And, if you do, go for the gun first always over pulling a knife on your opponent.
looks like a martial action flick without jet li
While I think everyone can agree, we wouldve rather just had a movie. This may work out for the better. Without the pressures and constraints of a big budget hollywood film, more can be done freely in story and ideas. yes that mean sacrificing big special effects and some other things. Lately I've come to love tv series more then movies. They last longer and are much more in depth and engaging then a 2 hour film. I'm just hoping it works out well for this series, because if it does, they will make the movie to follow.
Michael Jai White FTW!!!
