CBS Picks Up Family Comedy Starring Rob Schneider & Produced By The Tannenbaums

Deadline: "Eric and Kim Tannenbaums are fashionably late to the marketplace in their first development cycle at their new home, CBS TV Studios. But their last-minute comedy sale to CBS is a big one: an untitled half-hour starring Rob Schneider in his first TV series gig in 13 years. The untitled project, to be written by Lew Morton (Saturday Night Live, Big Lake) and Schneider, is based on Schneider's life and centers on a solitary guy who marries into a huge Mexican-American family. Morton, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum are executive producing, with Schneider and his brother John Schneider prodcuing through their From Out of Nowhere Prods. CBS TV Studios and the Tannenbaum Co. are producing the comedy, which has received a script order."

Wonder if this means the downhill struggle in his career is starting? He makes great movies and he is a great comedian, but we haven't seen him much lately and Adam Sandler kinda went more friendlier, thus leaving their pairing to be a bit weaker.

That and when actors go TV, that usuelly means movies stopped treating them well.

I think that's partly because he's already been having a downhill struggle. Most critics hate him and he never gets much credit for what he does. I agree he's a funny actor, but his career has never really reached it's potential.

I don't think switching to TV is as bad as it once was. Look at Charlie Sheen. He's making more money than anyone else on TV right now, and way more than he ever did in films. TV has been good to him. Same can be said for Shatner and Lawrence Fishbourne, and Gary Sinese.

Im not saying TV is terrible, but actors always go to TV when their careers are almost done. I know when Two and Half men ends, charlie wont be doing anything after that. Shatner is just shatner lol, he can do whatever he wants.

This though, he might do a few movies here and there, but if the show takes off he will become a tv person.

I just think it depends on the actor. Sheen won't do anything after his show runs it's course, but remember TV is where a lot of actors get started. Who knows maybe this will help restart Schneider's.

Yeah its starts careers a lot that's common but its also known that its when hot actors careers are ending. Like if cruise went to tv you know he's done.
