I have seen him in a bunch of stuff. And I agree he’s a good actor. That’s not the problem. Ben Affleck is a good actor/director/writer. The problem is he’s Robert Pattinson. It’s super hard to look past him and see Bruce Wayne/Batman.

This is just piss poor casting in general and it has nothing to do with his skill as an actor.
I really hope this turns out to be bs.

I'd disagree, just off the pic in the article he has a young Bruce vibe. Not to mention we've never had a young Batman. People said the same thing about HL as the joker, and we see how that turned out, and I think when people see a new BM movie is in the works they automatically think of the DCU mishaps...

Guys, nobody on this planet hates Twilight more than he does. Stop holding it against him. Dude-man's a solid actor with more than enough range to play both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Twilight had a terribad director and Edward was such a flat character that he didn't get to express any of his ability. Go watch some of his other films and you'll see he's more than capable of playing everybody's favorite, angsty, edgelord Superhero.

Titantic didn't stop Dicaprio from being a badass in films like The Departed and Blood Diamond.

And here we are again.... I love how people suddenly look back and are like “Well Heath Ledger had already proven himself before being cast as Joker!!!” Like they were on the Internet yelling that out the entire time 🤣

OMFG DC needs to FIRE their casting resources.

DC - Best Games, and TV - movies are weak point
Marvel - By FAR best movies, TV is decent, Games are weak point (but Spider Man is bright spot)

I'm gonna give him a chance. Everyone talked crap about Ben and he was great. Same goes for Grant Gustin playing The Flash. He was an actor on Glee and turned out to be the best Flash. The great thing about this project is it has a solid Director and writers. Ben is great and Daredevil had horrible screenplay. Let's wait for actor to screw up a great director/writer combo first.

Heath Ledger, Micheal Keaton, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Grant Gustin, all people bitched about and they did a great. The fan base is entitled af and you can instantly separate movie casuals who have only seen him in the very casual and mainstream Twilight crap.

That sucked = he’s definitely a terrible actor = sound logic

Cosmopolis, High Life, The Rover and Good times are movies that prove he has acting chops. He’s even working with Christopher Nolan as we speak! Does that equate to a good Batman?! Not necessarily but it’s much more to go off than people who recognize his name off the Twilight poster and tell their stupid “oH MaH gAwD ThEy gOnNa mAkE a sPaRkLy bAtMuHn jokes.

Garbage. Cosmopolis is good; he's a good actor for sure, but garbage casting for Bats/Wayne. You have to wonder about studios and casting sometimes. What happened to casting sessions to find that 6'2+, athletic, black-haired guy that's close to perfect for the role. Fuck WB.
